[Bug 1926822] [NEW] Updating from 18.04 LTS to 20.04 LTS fails with no hints on what to do

Trying to upgrade results in a error with no help hints.

apt.log contains a long list of broken packages, none of which I
remember installing, save for one or two.

I'm running Ubuntu MATE 18.04.5 LTS, with 'ubuntu-release-upgrader-core'
