My apologies if it is not appropriate to file a duplicate, but the
original is over 10 years old, and has been assigned to no one, so I
expect it will never get looked at.

"I have the same problem. Ubuntu won't work correctly on my system
unless I pass more parameters in (amd_iommu=on iommu=pt). Since the
installer doesn't update grub config, it boots in to a not working
state, then I have to go update the config manually."

$ lsb_release -rd
