Ubuntu 16.04 (xenial) reached end-of-life (standard support) on April
29, 2021.

If you're using Ubuntu 16.04 ESM please use your ESM support.

Bug description:
  All my desktop pictures appeared flattened or stretched and I cant
  seem to fit them all on the screen. Also dots appear continuously as
  though something is loading in the middle of the screen.
