Public bug reported:

Upgraded all packages and performed an autoremove. When attempting to
upgrade to jammy do-release-upgrade failed. It told me I needed to
remove a ppa but wouldn't tell me which one. The main.log appears to
point to ubuntu-desktop. I re-installed it but it failed on a second
attempt
