Title:
  Upgrading to to 22.04 removes macfanctld

Status in ubuntu-release-upgrader package in Ubuntu:
  New

Bug description:
  I upgraded from 20.04 to 22.04 during the upgrade macfanctld
  disappeared from the install.  This had undesirable effects because
  the fan was throttled to 2000rpm and the machine kept freezing.  The
  freezing was caused by kidle trying to stop the cpu melting.

  Since the primary culprit of high cpu was firefox finding the solution was tricky and it was only a mention of a problem with kidle from ubuntu 14.04 lead to the solution. macfanctld had vanished during the upgrade and once installed everything came back to life.
