Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make
Ubuntu better.

Using a Ventoy boot USB stick, which uses a different grub iso booting
method, fails.

That implies to me the bug exists in `ventoy` which is not a supported Ubuntu tool.

Supported methods are described in documentation as follows
- https://ubuntu.com/tutorials/tutorial-create-a-usb-stick-on-ubuntu#1-overview
- https://ubuntu.com/tutorials/tutorial-create-a-usb-stick-on-macos#1-overview
- https://ubuntu.com/tutorials/tutorial-create-a-usb-stick-on-windows#1-overview
where you'll note no mention is made of `ventoy`.

The error you mention "Unable to find a medium containing a live file
system" implies either an invalid ISO (did you validate it) OR bad write
to media (thus it couldn't be found).

You do mention 2022-02-02 works; which made me think of
https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/gdm3/+bug/1960226 so maybe
you've just found this older bug (which has since been fixed) and
mention 2022-02-06 daily fails (which was impacted by the aforementioned
bug),

so could this bug be a re-filing of
https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/gdm3/+bug/1960226 which has
been fixed.

I'll mark this bug incomplete; due to
(a) use of unsupported `ventoy`; bug is likely with outdated ventoy that can't deal with newer ISOs
(b) possible duplicate of provided bug report (which has been fixed),
but I believe the issue is the ventoy you're using is OUTDATED & needs updating to reflect changes in the aforementioned bug report due to changes; that is not a Ubuntu issue, with bug needing to be raised against ventoy.

If you believe I'm incorrect, please leave a comment explaining why, and
the bug report can be returned to "New".

Title:
ubuntu daily isos fail to isoboot

Status in syslinux package in Ubuntu:
  Incomplete

Bug description:
From about 2022-02-06, doing a grub isoboot into a jammy-desktop-amd64
  iso loops outputting

      stdin: Not a typewriter

This is repeated about every 2 seconds, for about 2 minutes, then
  there is a prompt

Unable to find a medium containing a live file system

and a busybox prompt. The casper log shows

      Begin: Running /scripts/casper-premount ... done.
      done.
      stdin: Not a typewriter

I've tried Ubuntu, Kubuntu and Lubuntu daily isos. These all could
isoboot up to 2022-02-02 at least.

I wrote one of the daily isos to a USB stick, and it booted normally.
Using a Ventoy boot USB stick, which uses a different grub iso booting
  method, fails.

Using a grub isoboot is much faster than writing an iso to a USB stick
then booting from that stick, and makes daily testing feasible.

(Any data "gathered" by ubuntu-bug is from the Kubuntu 21.10 system
I'm using to file this report, and are not relevant.)
