** Summary changed:
- Ubuntu 20.04 installer crashes when on ubiquity network
+ Ubuntu 20.04 installer crashes when "download updates" selected
** Description changed:
Seems to be similar or a duplicate of
https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/ubiquity/+bug/1880277
The Ubuntu 20.04 Desktop Live CD installer crashes when trying to
- install Ubiquity (as I am on a ubiquity network, and selected "download
- third party software").
+ install. Installing without updates succeeds, but results in a broken
+ install (no ethernet, or dkms for some reason).
How the error occurred:
- - Run Live CD (normal graphics mode)
- - Run installer
- - Select "Minimal install" and "install third-party software"
- - Set up partition table (2GB EFI partt=ition, rest of disk Ubuntu)
- - Installer crashes at last stage
+ - Run Live CD (normal graphics mode)
+ - Run installer
+ - Select "Minimal install" and "install third-party software"
+ - Set up partition table (2GB EFI partition, rest of disk Ubuntu)
+ - Installer crashes at last stage
Expected behaviour: Installer doesn't crash
- Actual behaviour: Ubiquity ruins my life
+ Actual behaviour: Installer crashes.
+
+ Note, I have installed ubuntu 20.04 on this system before, so I have no
+ idea why the installer would crash here.
