Thanks, Axel.

Before I close this as fixed here in Launchpad, can I ask you to
elaborate more on the "Depends" in your reply?  How would you consider
this still an active ticket?  Is it maybe best to open a new ticket and
reference this one to keep things easier to understand?

I'm just doing BTS maintenance.

Bug description:
  When I make packages held back (I don't want to upgrade due to a bug
  in the newest version which makes it unusable) in aptitude, update-
  manager still wants to upgrade this package. Apt-get and aptitude  do
  the right thing though.
