I cannot find any issues like the one you're describing in any of your
uploaded log files, therefore I suspect it was a temporary issue with
launchpad itself.

  When running update-manager with a PPA enabled (specifically
  https://launchpad.net/~luis220413/+archive/ubuntu/security-updates),
  trying to view changes for the updates from the PPA and installing all
  updates, it prints to stderr "Unable to find a valid PPA candidate
  URL." twice.
