Description:	Ubuntu 20.04.4 LTS
Release:	20.04

The system has been working normally for over 2 years. As of June this year the following error message occurs when running the 'software updater'
‘Failed to download package files
Check your internet connection.’
The internet is working normally (updater shows available updates including kernel updates).

Since the system is not up to date I cannot upgrade.
