Title:
u-m 64bit amd 22.04 lts installer reports error removing initramfs-
tools package and installation stops
Status in Ubuntu MATE:

Status in ubiquity package in Ubuntu:

Bug description:
lenovo x1 extreme gen 4; 16gb ram; nvme gen 4 ssd samsung 980 pro 2 TB; nvme gen 3 ssd samsung 970 EVO plus 2 TB.
built usb flash drive from ubuntu-mate-22.04-desktop-amd64.iso.
booted this flash drive and selected GUI installer.
primary drive is nvme gen4 ssd 980 pro.
selected normal install
selected a wifi network interface (but was never asked for any credentials).
selected 3rd party tools.
created a gpt on the 980 pro ssd with:
p1 200mb, ext4, /boot
p2 rest of drive, ext4, /
Denver timezone
After a short time the installer showed it was running dpkg and a popup appeared stating:
Error removing initramfs-tools package post installation script subprocess returned error exit status 1 - OK
Selected OK
Installer summarized the error, installation finished, and requested reboot.
I have no clue if the installation is really finished! It never asked for the wifi credential nor did it download any 3rd party tools.
It didnt seem like it took enough time to perform the portion that it appears to have done.
What to do?
