Title:
Linux Mint Cinamon installation "tz" data is corrupt

Status in ubiquity package in Ubuntu:
  Invalid

Bug description:
  Cinnamon 4.8.6
  Mint 20 and 20.1
Motherboard integrated Intel graphics, generic X display driver
  64 bit

  **Issue**

In the OS installation process, the "tz" time zone list of places is corrupt, outdated, and contains non-Canonical place names which were deprecated long ago. An example is the deprecated listing for "America/Montreal". This problem affects the installed software and messes up the time zone and the time setting. Also, the "tz" list is not searchable by typing the first character, a poor design for a list that has nearly over 300 entries.
