Hi,
I could solve this problems in two steps, first I installed Debian to
get more information about the error, so this appears at the end...
systemd-shutdown[1]: Could not detach DM /dev/dm-0: Device or resource busy'
systemd-shutdown[1]: Failed to finalize DM devices, ignoring.
reboot: Power down
With that information, I could find the solution here:
https://bugzilla.kernel.org/show_bug.cgi?id=206571
++++
Go into the BIOS of the laptop, under Virtualization, and DISABLE the option "VT for Direct I/O".

Here are the specs of my Thinkpad X! Carbon 4th gen laptop...
$ cat /etc/debian_version

$ sudo dmesg | grep ' DMI:'

I'm going to keep Debian as my primary OS, but I hope this solution
would be also valid for Ubuntu.
P.S. Remember to update your BIOS version to the latest version (1.52 at
the moment).
Have a nice day ;-)

Bug description:
Hi,
I'm having an issue with Ubuntu 22.04 on a Thinkpad X1 Carbon 4th
generation. After a clean install choosing to encrypt my full disk,
when I turn off the laptop, it does not shut down properly, so I have
to press the power button during 5 seconds to turn it off and then I
can turn it on again.
I was looking for information regarding this bug, but unfortunately I
couldn't find a solution yet, so any extra information do you need, do
not hesitate to ask.
