You have been subscribed to a public bug by Julian Andres Klode (juliank):

1. Install the previous version of Ubuntu.
2. Launch Update Manager or Software Updater.
3. Advance to the "Do you want to start the upgrade?" step.

What you see: Something like "You have to download a total of 1,102M.
This download will take about 2 hours 20 minutes with a 1Mbit DSL
connection and about 1 day 18 hours with a 56k modem."

It's likely that some people still use Ubuntu on dial-up, but giving an
estimate this way makes Ubuntu look old. We should find a more sensible
way to present the estimate, for example, showing the 56k version only
if you *do* have a 56k connection.

<https://wiki.ubuntu.com/ReleaseUpgrades#ready>: "The time should be
calculated based on how long the package indexes took to download..."

** Affects: update-manager (Ubuntu)
     Importance: Low
         Status: Triaged
