I'll mark it as invalid since I now realize memory was under the system
requirements[1] and the log does mention a spontaneous "connection to :0
broken (explicit kill or server shutdown)", which looks like OOM.

Title:
  Crashed twice during installation

Status in ubiquity package in Ubuntu:
  Invalid

Bug description:
Testing the 20221018 ISO[1] under Qemu,

    qemu-system-x86_64 -m 3.2G -enable-kvm -smp 6 -hda
  kinetic-261640.img -cdrom kinetic.iso

Installation aborted midway twice at random positions:

  - First at the final steps of installation (I think at configuring for
system hardware), I was left with a black screen; Forced shutdown, the
  resulting system was not bootable.

  - Second when doing the manual partitioning, left me with an error
message "the installer encountered an unrecoverable error. A desktop
session will now be run so that you may investigate...". This is the
  attached log.
