As I was testing in Qemu and with safe graphics, I was only able to see
about one quarter of the whole screen, so I dragged it to that quarter
and expected it would stick there throughout the installation.

Of course that could be adjusted by zooming out.

A window that repositions itself is never a real blocker — at most an
annoyance —, but this being Ubuntu's installer, a.k.a. the first
impression for new users, I believe it has to be nitpicky about
reliability and consistency.

Consider also the closely related LP: #1993554.

Title:
Window repositions after clicking "install ubuntu"

Status in ubiquity package in Ubuntu:
  Incomplete

Bug description:
I'm testing on safe graphics, but probably this is not specific to it.

Reposition the Ubiquity window, then click "Install Ubuntu".

Expected: Keyboard layout page comes up, window stays in place.

Observed: Keyboard layout page comes up, window repositions to the
  center of the screen.
