12.10 --> 22.10 coming soon and it is still impossible to install an
encrypted (k)ubuntu in dual boot without having to deal with the command
line :(

Title:
Encrypted LVM in Ubiquity unavailable when installing alongside an
  existing OS

Status in ubiquity package in Ubuntu:
  Confirmed

Bug description:
Ubiquity installer in 12.10 and 13.04 offers the ability to install
Ubuntu with Full Disk Encryption, with checkboxes for encryption and
LVM. However, the options are only available when replacing an
existing operating system. If I wish to install Ubuntu alongside
another OS, the options become greyed out (see screenshot).
