Public bug reported:
[Impact]
Ubuntu's golang-1.17 is several minor releases behind upstream (1.17.6 vs. 1.17.13). These releases provide a number of critical bug and security fixes. The upstream policy and full list of changes are available here:
https://go.dev/doc/devel/release
There is no specific issue for which I am requesting this update, rather it seems like this should qualify under:
https://wiki.ubuntu.com/StableReleaseUpdates#New_upstream_microreleases
[Test Case]
Upstream provides an upstream test suite that is executed at package build time.
[What Could Go Wrong]
Critical bug and security fixes sometimes introduce regressions themselves.
