hello,
bug is in the escape fonction in osutils.cc
I've tried it with gdb and when you have an accentuated character the
condition passes then begins again with the first condition (== 0x9)
then continue the for loop
haven't found out why yet.
joined gdb text file (I modified the string s to have accents, they're
not ok in the linked file, should be ("hèèhe"))

Title:
lshw -html: accented characters disappear in class="second"
Status in lshw package in Ubuntu:
Confirmed
Bug description:
Hello,
Ubuntu 22.04.3 LTS
lshw version: 02.19.git.2021.06.19.996aaad9c7-2build1
Expected: all characters must be shown in lshw -html.
What happened instead: in French language, when running lshw -html,
accented characters are suppressed in class="second" also not in
class="first".
