Title:
  Installer changes language selection

Status in debian-installer package in Ubuntu:
  New

Bug description:
  Binary package hint: debian-installer

Installing 11.04 alt dvd of ubuntustudio on a Japanese White
  MacbookPro1,1

Even if I choose USA as the country, and English as the language, when
I choose "Japanese Macbook" for the keyboard, when I am able to enter
my hostname, it starts typing in katakana. Also, the method I chose to
switch languages "shift+alt" does not switch languages.

If English is chosen, one should type in English, regardless of the
  keyboard's country of origin. Thanks!
