Same thing just happened to me... Got an update to 6.2.0-25-generic,
rebooted and was welcomed by a black screen.

I was able to boot by plugging in to my AMD iGPU and noticed that the
Nvidia driver was not loaded, and the package nvidia-dkms-535 was not
installed. I installed it and rebooted and now it is working. Third time
in a month now that a routine upgrade makes my system crash on boot :-/
