Thank you for taking the time to report this issue and helping to make
Ubuntu better.

This package failure was due to problems with your installation media,
and subsequent squashfs errors encountered reading data from it, eg.
look in the logs and you'll see messages like these :-

Mar 21 19:34:50 ubuntu kernel: [  131.829095] SQUASHFS error: zlib decompression failed, data probably corrupt
Mar 21 19:34:50 ubuntu kernel: [  131.829104] SQUASHFS error: Failed to read block 0xed577d2: -5


Usually this means an invalid ISO, or a bad write to your install media, usually detected during the ISO validation (prior to write; https://tutorials.ubuntu.com/tutorial/tutorial-how-to-verify-ubuntu#0) or the CasperMD5CheckResult failed.  Problems can also occur if using a VM with insufficient RAM supplied.

I'd return to prior steps & recheck your ISO (did it download
correctly?) or the write of ISO to media (this is where I find failures
most commonly as USB flash media is made to cost & cheap)
