Public bug reported:

Reviewed the apt log. It is complaining about "mutter". With synaptic, I
reinstalled the four "mutter" packages that were already installed.
Restarted. Upgrade still fails complaining about "mutter" in the log.

I reinstalled these:

libmutter-12-0
mutter-common
mutter-common-bin
