[Bug 2044291] [NEW] Updating Ubuntu to 23.10 from 23.04 crashes

Public bug reported:

Nothing special, upgrading to the new version was proposed automatically
and I had time so I accepted. The weird thing however was that the patch
notes that appear just before upgrading were blank, but I could still
start the upgrade and it crashed after a little while.

I tried to do it several times with the same result.
