[Bug 2037350] [NEW] Setup allows uppercase letters in username, then fails silently

You have been subscribed to a public bug:

Uppercase letters are allowed, and checkmark indicates valid username,
but system is not functional after setup, and restarting computer
restarts setup. Should indicate that the username is invalid with
capital letters.

Using Ubuntu 22.04.3 LTS
