Thanks for the report Patrick.

Using the 20231011 build all looks correct to me.  I have used your
autoinstall with an identity section added, and the install went fine
twice with the configuration matching a de layout.

Would you elaborate a bit on what happened?  How did you determine that
the layout was not in use?  Would you also provide a tarball of
/var/log/installer?

Bug description:
  When using cloud-init autoinstall to deploy the current daily of
  Mantic (server), the given keyboard layout is not recognized by the
  subiquity installer.

  Example conf:

  #cloud-config
  autoinstall:
    version: 1
    keyboard:
      layout: de

  PS: When using the current beta of mantic server this issue does not
  exist.
