Public bug reported:
Hello There!
This is a rather important issue and is currently affecting many Jammy
machines / containers that contain mac address match line in the netplan
file. An example:
network:
version: 2
ethernets:
eth0:
match:
macaddress: 00:16:3e:06:05:12
addresses:
- 10.1.15.188/21
gateway4: 10.1.10.1
nameservers:
search: [alannet]
addresses: [10.1.9.6, 10.1.9.12, 10.1.10.10]
We noticed after upgrading netplan from 0.105-0ubuntu2~22.04.3 to 0.106.1-7ubuntu0.22.04.2 causes units to fail to bring IP addresses up.
There are currently two workarounds:
1. Remove the match line from the netplan yaml
2. Downgrade back to 0.105-0ubuntu2~22.04.3
This should be very easy to reproduce. I'm pasting the
0.105-0ubuntu2~22.04.3 package links here as well:

Please let me know if you'd like more logs or information.
Best,
Alan
