Title:
Ubuntu 23.04 to 23.10 - When I click "Upgrade" nothing happens
Status in ubuntu-release-upgrader package in Ubuntu:
New
Bug description:
I get the upgrade message to upgrade to Ubuntu 23.10 from 23.04, but
when I click the button, nothing happens. It says "the software on
this computer is up to date". I've restart a couple times.
When I do a `do-release-upgrade` from the command line, it says:
```
Checking for a new Ubuntu release
Please install all available updates for your release before upgrading.
```
When I run `sudo apt upgrade` I get:
```
Reading package lists... Done
Building dependency tree... Done
Reading state information... Done
Calculating upgrade... Done
#
# Canonical released microcode updates for both Intel (CVE-2022-40982) and AMD
# (CVE-2023-20593). ‘Unattended upgrades’ provide security updates by default.
# Ensure it remains enabled to always get all updates as they become available.
#
The following packages have been kept back:
libnvidia-cfg1-535 libnvidia-common-535 libnvidia-compute-535
libnvidia-decode-535 libnvidia-encode-535 libnvidia-extra-535
libnvidia-fbc1-535 libnvidia-gl-535
linux-modules-nvidia-535-6.2.0-36-generic
linux-modules-nvidia-535-generic-hwe-22.04
linux-objects-nvidia-535-6.2.0-36-generic
linux-signatures-nvidia-6.2.0-36-generic nvidia-compute-utils-535
nvidia-driver-535 nvidia-kernel-common-535 nvidia-kernel-source-535
nvidia-utils-535 xserver-xorg-video-nvidia-535
0 upgraded, 0 newly installed, 0 to remove and 18 not upgraded.
```
I'm leary of manually upgrading "held back" dependencies.
