Public bug reported:
Upgrading from Jammy to Noble, we need the kernel metapackage to switch
from the Jammy HWE one to linux-generic or similar. linux-generic
Recommends ubuntu-kernel-accessories. It should get pulled in on
upgrade. It's important to ensure that this works so it is the same as
in a fresh installation, but I cannot test it because upgrades are
currently disabled.
This may not be an issue. If it works as expected when upgrades are
enabled then this bug should probably be Invalid. But if it doesn't,
then we'll have some set of broken users for whom it'll be difficult to
solve the problem later, so I thought that filing a bug might help with
ensuring this is checked before upgrades are enabled.
I don't know if ubuntu-release-upgrader is an appropriate place to put
this bug task. If something else is appropriate instead, please could
you advise?
** Affects: ubuntu-release-upgrader (Ubuntu)
Importance: Undecided
Status: New
** Summary changed:
- Verify that ubuntu-kernel-accessories gets installed on upgrade
+ ubuntu-kernel-accessories does not get installed on upgrade
