Public bug reported:

This error occurred during a release upgrade from 23.10 to 24.04 of
Ubuntu server.

anacron seems to have upgraded, but the postinst script hangs. I tried
to stop the cron service, but it doesn't continue.

After the upgrade finished, the setup of anacron 2.3-39 continued again,
but was also stuck on the postinst script.
