This is not a bug - it is the shell expecting more input from you since
it expects ( to have a matching ) and so is essentially prompting for
more input.

  In the Terminal, type '(' and press Enter key; opens a different

Status in ubuntu-release-upgrader package in Ubuntu:
  Invalid

Bug description:
  1) Open a new Terminal window.
  2) Type '(' 
  3) Press Enter key from the keyboard.

  Expected: The response should be some error message saying: "Command not found".
  Actual: It opens a different mode (Environment) on the Terminal, starting with '>' symbol.

  4) In this different mode (followed by '>' symbol), type any command &
  press Enter key from the keyboard.

  Actual: There is NO response, except the '>' symbol.

  
  5) Do not enter any command, and press Enter key from the keyboard.

  Actual: There no response, except the '>' symbol.

  
  6) Press 'Ctrl'+'c', from the keyboard.

  Actual:  Finally, this different mode (Environment) exits.
