The parameter -o is used to set a boot order. It requires an argument

E.g. you could use the following command

sudo efibootmgr -o 0000,0001

to set the BootOrder variable to first boot the boot-option defined in
variable Boot0000 and then the one in defined variable Boot0001.

To show the current boot order just issue the command

efibootmgr

Best regards

Heinrich

Title:
  efibootmgr-o does not work

Status in efibootmgr package in Ubuntu:
  Invalid

Bug description:
The command "efibootmgr -o" does not work. It only brings me back to the efibootmgr menu. It is supposed to show the boot order ready for manipulating.
  Description:	Ubuntu 24.04.1 LTS
   apt-cache policy efibootmgr
  efibootmgr:
    Installed: 18-1build2
    Candidate: 18-1build2
    Version table:
   *** 18-1build2 500
          500 https://mirror.it.ubc.ca/ubuntu noble/main amd64 Packages
          100 /var/lib/dpkg/status
Expected efibootmgr to show the boot order ready for editing.
What happened instead; it produced the efibootmgr menu.
