Public bug reported:

During the recent test rebuilds, one of the rebuild configurations was
against a snapshot of the upcoming glibc 2.39.

cross-toolchain-base-ports failed to build in that configuration with
the error.

tar: /usr/src/glibc/glibc-2.38.9000.tar.xz: Cannot open: No such file or
directory

This has been confirmed locally with a more recent snapshot.
