Public bug reported:

Hi,

just tried to install Ubuntu 24.04 Server on a 2012 Mac Mini, image
checksum checked and tested with two different usb-sticks.

in four or five attempts installation always crashed in the menu pages
after entering the username/password and denying to choose Ubuntu Pro,
even when not entering anything.

The installer asked me to send you crash files written to the usb stick.

However, problems went away and installation worked smoothly after zeroing out the first gigabytes of disk and partition table (before, Proxmox = Debian was installed).

It looks as if curtin crashes when a particular partition table exists.

** Affects: curtin (Ubuntu)
     Importance: Undecided
         Status: New
