No clues as to what your system is (Ubuntu Core? Ubuntu Desktop? Ubuntu
Server?) were included in your filing.

Please execute the following command only once, as it will automatically
gather debugging information, in a terminal:

apport-collect 2069219

  Software Updater fails to launch

Status in update-manager package in Ubuntu:
  New

Bug description:
  selecting software update from the menu does nothing.
  selecting it manually from the list of apps also does nothing.
  attempting to launch it from the 'install software' page also doesn't work.
