[Bug 2086304] [NEW] Backport changes to lxd-installer-script for Ubuntu Noble daily CPC images

Public bug reported:

LXD team has refactored lxd-installer-script to allow sourcing it from
other bash scripts -
https://code.launchpad.net/~sdeziel/ubuntu/+source/lxd-
installer/+git/lxd-installer/+merge/475230 which needs to be backported
to Ubuntu CPC images (preferably Noble first)

Launchpad team needs these changes to support pre-baking correct LXD
version in images.
