  error message while trying to upgrade from 22.04 to 24.04

Status in ubuntu-release-upgrader package in Ubuntu:
  Invalid

Bug description:
  I successfully upgraded from 18.04 lts to 20.04 lts and then to 22.04
  lts. The next upgrade however, gives this error message at the end
