  LXD fails to start with message: "Required tool 'zpool' is missing"

Status in lxd package in Ubuntu:

Bug description:
  After my system was updated from 22.04 LTS to 24.04 LTS, LXD failed to
  start with the following message:

  t=2024-09-16T15:01:43-0400 lvl=eror msg="Failed to start the daemon"
  err="Failed initializing storage pool \"pool1\": Required tool 'zpool'
  is missing"

  Entering the following instruction:

  sudo snap refresh --channel=5.0/edge

  as directed on the referenced web page seems to have fixed the
  problem. I'm able to start the LXD daemon now, and all my containers
  start correctly. I would have expected this to be properly handled in
  the upgrade process.
