I tried what I could. Some comments so far:

The error message stated by the UI is less than helpful. It suggests to
use ppa-purge, which is alien to probably any normal user. The help-text
given by the tool is cryptic, asking for information a user most likely
does not have, and it does not help with any indication how to
potentially find this information.

AND: You cannot copy/paste the text; I had to screenshot the error
message to be able to peruse its contents.

The error message in the main.log is "2025-04-21 12:08:47,088 ERROR
Dist-upgrade failed: 'Defekte Pakete nach der Aktualisierung:
fontconfig-config'"

I've searched up and down the net about fontconfig, and there seems to
be some issue with that, but the solutions (if any was given at all) are
not helpful; removing and re-installing libfontconfig1, suggested as
"fixing that issue" would basically remove half the system (about 600
dependencies like LaTeX and other productivity systems, but also loads
of libs)

Doing "apt list | grep fontconfig" gives this:
