I'm afraid this is back. It persists in Vixie cron, and Debian 12 reintroduced it via a February 2023 commit which went in 3.0pl1-159: https://salsa.debian.org/debian/cron/-/commit/693ff29b93d61dff7c1fd62d657ba5aedfa57e6f
In other words, even though there's still patch supposed to fix ( https://salsa.debian.org/debian/cron/-/blob/master/debian/patches/fixes/Manpage-corrections-and-improvements.patch?ref_type=heads ) and it's still in series, it's cancelled by a later patch on crontab.5: debian/patches/fixes/crontab_5_manpage.patch
It's not applied in Debian 12 and unstable: https://manpages.debian.org/unstable/cron/crontab.5.en.html
This affects 3.0pl1-178ubuntu1 and above, and therefore 24.04 and 24.10.
Note that this is extra confusing now that Ubuntu ships numerous cron
implementations, including bcron, which never documented this, and
systemd-cron.

Title:
man 5 cron incomplete
Status in cron package in Ubuntu:
Fix Released
Status in cron package in Debian:
Fix Released
Bug description:
Binary package hint: cron
According to man 5 crontab there is no way to use multiple recipients
in MAILTO variable.
According to man 5 crontab under FreeBSD ( http://fuse4bsd.creo.hu/localcgi/man-cgi.cgi?crontab+5 ):
"MAILTO may also be used to direct mail to multiple recipients by seperating recipient users with a comma."
And it works under Ubuntu also!
Add this line to the man page of 5 crontab please.
I've found the bug in http://packages.ubuntu.com/feisty/cron and it exists under Kubuntu 8.04 also.
apt-cache policy cron
