Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make
Ubuntu better. Please execute the following command only once, as it
will automatically gather debugging information, in a terminal:
apport-collect 2097795
When reporting bugs in the future please use apport by using 'ubuntu-
bug' and the name of the package affected. You can learn more about this
functionality at https://wiki.ubuntu.com/ReportingBugs.
( This bug report was filed against the update-manager package on a
specific & unspecified release, and NOT the ubuntu-release-upgrader
package or process - was that intentional?? )

Title:
Upgrade from 22.04 to 24.04 remove gnome-software
Status in update-manager package in Ubuntu:
Confirmed
Bug description:
For some reasons , the upgrade from 22.04 to 24.04 mark gnome-software
as " obsolete package"
Suggesting users to remove it which here on dozens on desktops lead to
people left without their usual app store interface to update their
flatpaks
Why does those packages are marked obsolete ? they are perfectly updated as the rest of the gnome desktop.
