I did some profiling using Subiquity's dry-run feature in two LXD
environments. One with jammy (i.e., core22) and one with noble (i.e.,
core24).

In both environments, I did the following steps
* navigate to the "guided storage configuration" screen
* leave the default options checked i.e.
   * (x) Use an entire disk
   * [x] Set up this disk as an LVM group
   * [ ] Encrypt the LVM group with LUKS
   * ( ) Custom storage layout
* position the cursor to the "custom storage layout" line
* pressed the "UP" arrow key

Results
-------
jammy:
  * 27100 function calls (24489 primitive calls) in 0.011 seconds
noble:
  * 1846977 function calls (1826012 primitive calls) in 0.365 seconds

Attaching the profiling data

Title:
  Partition manager navigation terribly slow

Status in subiquity package in Ubuntu:
  New

Bug description:
The daily Plucky RISC-V installer uses subiquity
  25.04-devel+git68.764d202e.

When installing on a SiFive HiFive Unmatched the navigation in the
partition manager is very slow. It needs ca. 3 seconds to jump from
  one line to another.

The problem does not exist in other parts of subiquity.

This problem did not exist when we released 24.04.

  Best regards

  Heinrich
