@xypron, I measured on amd64 since it is what I have access to. I don't
think the performance regression is specific to an architecture, but
obviously the slower the platform, the easier it is to feel the impact.

  Partition manager navigation terribly slow

Status in subiquity package in Ubuntu:
  In Progress

Bug description:
  The daily Plucky RISC-V installer uses subiquity
  25.04-devel+git68.764d202e.

  When installing on a SiFive HiFive Unmatched the navigation in the
  partition manager is very slow. It needs ca. 3 seconds to jump from
  one line to another.

  The problem does not exist in other parts of subiquity.

  This problem did not exist when we released 24.04.
