Title:
  "bootloader install failed" dialog unresponsive

Status in ubiquity package in Ubuntu:
  Won't Fix

Bug description:
If grub-install fails for whatever reason such that it brings up the
"Bootloader install failed" dialog box in ubiquity, this dialog box
may be unresponsive when the user clicks OK or attempts to dismiss the
dialog, with mouse or keyboard. The dialog will not go away.

  It's not just one-off.

Edit: Lubuntu 16.04 though one or two of the above URLs is about
Ubuntu. x86_64, 2008 Macbook in my case - again, of the reports I've
found about this, it is not Mac-specific.
