Title:
Not clear that partitioning Ubuntu inside a VM doesn't touch host OS
Status in ubiquity package in Ubuntu:
Won't Fix
Bug description:
Binary package hint: ubiquity
In an informal user test of Ubiquity, our test participant was
installing inside a VirtualBox virtual machine on Mac OS X, and didn't
know whether he should partition the disk to leave Mac OS X intact.
If a non-trivial proportion of Ubuntu users install it inside a VM, it
may be worth detecting it (in the same way as it's detected for the
"Who are you?" step) and adding an extra sentence to explain that you
can safely use the "entire disk" without wiping the host operating
system. Or even just changing "Use Entire Disk" to "Use Entire Virtual
Machine", or something like that.
