Title:
GRUB2 installed to SD card instead of HDD

Status in ubiquity package in Ubuntu:
  Won't Fix

Bug description:
GRUB2 installed to my SD card instead of the hard drive. "Entire
Disk" install of Xubuntu 18.10 amd64 daily build, BIOS firmware, no
option to boot from SD card slot. Xubuntu 18.10 amd64 daily build
  07242018.

During installation, Ubiquity by default selected my SD card
(/dev/mmcblk0) as the installation target, so I selected my hard drive
(/dev/sda) from the pull-down. I clicked Details when installation
began, and noticed that it installed GRUB2 to /dev/mmcblk0. After
installation, the restart simply brought me to a blank screen with a
blinking cursor. Using Super Grub2 Disk to boot in, I ran "sudo grub-
install /dev/sda" and it rebooted fine without any help.

I've also had this problem with Linux Mint 18.3 and 19, various
Ubuntu-based editions, but not with Fedora 28 Xfce.
