Title:
[Feature request] Special mount options for SSD by default in
installer
Status in ubiquity package in Ubuntu:
Won't Fix
Bug description:
When installing Ubuntu desktop onto an SSD special mount options could
be added by the installer by default to help newbies prolong their
drive's lifespan. Some of these options (discard) depend on the type
of the target drive and the filesystem used, but noatime and
nodiratime should be a safe default choice for most desktop
installations with SSDs. (I believe the pros overweight the cons in
this typical usage scenario.)
Also btrfs might worth to be considered the new default choice for
this use-case to prevent bitrot.
