Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make
Ubuntu better. I suspect a support site would be more appropriate, e.g.
https://askubuntu.com, or for more options please look at
https://discourse.ubuntu.com/t/community-support/709.

Title:
Upgrade 22.04.5 > 24.04.1 -> RTL8125 not detected anymore
Status in ubuntu-release-upgrader package in Ubuntu:
Invalid
Bug description:
I am able to run the Kubuntu upgrade 22.04.5 to 24.04.1 without
errors, but when i reboot after the upgrade, i get just a console
login. KDE is not starting. In the console ifconfig only shows me the
lo device and no network interface with the command "ifconfig".
Kubuntu 24.04.1 is using Kernel 6.8, the same like my Kubuntu 22.04.5
and there the RTL8125 network card works perfectly with the kernel
module 8169 loaded, so this looks like a bug in the upgrade process.
Google ping does not work.
