The installation of Ubuntu 24.04.2 Desktop is stuck at the following log message:
    ubuntu subquity_.log.xxxx[xxx]: Get: xx https://us.archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu noble-backports/multiverse amd64 c -n -f Metadata[116 B]


Steps to Reproduce:
---------------------
1. Create a VM with default settings in ESXi 8.0 or ESXi 8.0.x

2. Mount the ISO file ubuntu-24.04.2-desktop-amd64.iso to the VM

3. Power on the VM and follow the OS installation wizard to install
Ubuntu Desktop

4. During the "Copying files …" stage, the installation process gets
stuck at the following log message:

   ubuntu subquity_.log.xxxx[xxx]: Get: xx https://us.archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu noble-backports/multiverse amd64 c -n -f Metadata[116 B]
