Tested on Ubuntu 24.04:
```
# apt install -y open-iscsi
Reading package lists... Done
Building dependency tree... Done
Reading state information... Done
The following additional packages will be installed:
finalrd libisns0t64 libopeniscsiusr netbase
The following NEW packages will be installed:
finalrd libisns0t64 libopeniscsiusr netbase open-iscsi
0 upgraded, 5 newly installed, 0 to remove and 0 not upgraded.
[...]
Setting up open-iscsi (2.1.9-3ubuntu5.3) ...
Processing triggers for libc-bin (2.39-0ubuntu8.4) ...
Processing triggers for initramfs-tools (0.142ubuntu25.5) ...
update-initramfs: Generating /boot/initrd.img-6.8.0-54-generic
```
So open-iscsi is using the update-initramfs trigger.

Title:
install does not trigger initramfs update
Status in open-iscsi package in Ubuntu:
Fix Released
Bug description:
installing open-iscsi provides some initramfs hooks, but does not update the initramfs.
the result is:
apt-get install open-iscsi
reboot
will not allow you to use iscsi in initramfs.
per discussion just now in ubuntu-devel it should call update-
initramfs -u in postinst [1]
